Excelsoft at E-ATP 2025: Showcasing Real Innovation in Assessment

We’re delighted to announce that Excelsoft will be presenting two compelling sessions at the 2025 E-ATP Conference in Dublin this September. Both presentations have been carefully selected by the conference’s expert panel, reflecting the industry’s recognition of our collaborative approach to solving real-world assessment challenges.

Our collaboration with Training Qualifications UK (TQUK) represents exactly the kind of partnership that drives meaningful change in our industry. Together, we’ve tackled a fundamental challenge: how do you make vocational assessments work for people juggling careers, families, and education?

Andrew Walker, Managing Director of TQUK, will present “Breaking Barriers: Creating Flexible Assessment for Working Professionals in Vocational Education" alongside our own Rakesh Sharma, Senior Customer Success Manager for UK and Europe. This session tells the complete transformation story—from identifying the barriers that prevented working adults from accessing qualifications, to implementing a flexible, on-demand digital solution that maintains regulatory rigour whilst removing unnecessary obstacles.

Andrew brings a unique perspective as someone who’s led TQUK’s evolution into one of the UK’s most innovative awarding organisations. Under his leadership, TQUK has pioneered reforms in Functional Skills qualifications, creating assessment models that actually fit around people’s lives rather than forcing them to fit around rigid testing schedules.

Rakesh, our Business Solutions Specialist with 15 years of experience implementing assessment platforms across the UK and Europe, will share the technical implementation perspective. His work on the TQUK project demonstrates how thoughtful collaboration between technology providers and awarding bodies can create genuinely transformative solutions.

The impact has been profound: working parents can now take assessments after their children are asleep, rural learners with limited connectivity can access qualifications previously beyond reach, and candidates with diverse cognitive needs benefit from familiar environments rather than stressful test centres.

Security remains one of the most critical challenges in online assessment, and our second presentation addresses this head-on. Adarsh Sudhindra, our VP of Products and Innovation, will present “Enhancing Online Exam Security with Real-Time Test Forensics."

Adarsh brings both technical depth and strategic vision to this topic. With a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and experience founding enhanzED Education, he understands both the technical possibilities and the practical realities of implementing security solutions at scale.

This session isn’t about theoretical security measures—it’s about forensic analytics that are actively protecting exam integrity right now. Adarsh will demonstrate how techniques like Item Response Time Analysis, Response Change Statistics, and Answer Similarity Analysis can proactively identify irregularities during test delivery using real-world examples from our SARAS assessment platform.

What makes this approach particularly powerful is its focus on fairness. These forensic techniques don’t just catch cheating—they ensure that honest test-takers aren’t disadvantaged, creating more equitable assessment environments for everyone.

Both presentations tie directly into the conference theme of “Building European Assessment for All." The TQUK collaboration demonstrates how assessment can become a bridge rather than a barrier to career advancement, whilst our forensics work shows how we can maintain trust and fairness as we scale digital assessment across diverse populations.
